Managed just one Skype call before Clive passed on. Great memories of Orleans school (before 13 +) and after. We used to turn up on each others doorstep with tennis rackets and drag each other to the park in Twickenham and a few year later creep quietly into his parents flat after the pub so as not to wake his parents whilst we contemplated the world. Clive will be missed by so many. So glad Sue has her family to help her through this time.

Susan, our deepest sympathies to you and your family. This happened much too soon and not providing sufficien time to enjoy retirement. I was thankful for the wonderful conversation with Clive before he passed away. We are sorry for not being able to join you in the celebration of his life. So many old childhood memories - I remember bringing you both cakes when you lived around the corner in Teddington when I was just 13. I also loved being your bridesmaid. We all will miss Clive's sense of humour - he made us laugh. We will miss his phone calls and of late the video chats. We have fond memories of our trip to you in 2008 and especially Clive's amazing pancakes at breakfast.

Story shared: Clive's Early Years

Newborn Clive Owen arrived at 173 Amyand Park Road, Twickenham, Middlesex, England when I was aged 11. His parents Bob and Joyce lived in the apartment above the Johnson family, my parents and brother David. Sadly David died recently and I am now the sole survivor of those two families. The age difference with Clive meant that we had little social contact, although I can remember some occasional child-minding as I moved into my teens. Our families were great friends; at Sunday morning coffee the house chimed with laughter. In later years, when I returned to the house with my wife and children to visit my mother, the same happy atmosphere prevailed, and the house had acquired a new visitor – Susan. It was a great pleasure when Clive and Susan visited me in Cumbria on their UK tour in 2008; and Clive's humour in two recent phone conversations was typical of the man. Susan – my sincere condolences. Clive – rest peacefully.

I had the pleasure of working with Clive at the Bank of Montreal prior to his retirement. I was even lucky enough to play golf with him. He was so proud of his family and was always sharing stories and pictures of his grandchildren. A true gentleman!

Always enjoyed hearing of Clive's travels around the world. Especially his adventures of shopping on Canal St. We have had many chuckles over the years remembering Mom and Clive's story of how Mr.Owen got stuck in the Go Train door! Mr.Owen will always be remembered fondly by our family.
